Costa del Coco: Punta Cana

Costa del Coco: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

The modern face of the Dominican Republic Tourism, this long and iylilic coastline of white sand and swaying palms is home to a cluster of all-inclusive resorts. It’s a paradise for windsurfers and surfers alike

The ‘Coconut Coast” with its reef protected white beaches and placid waters is the country up-and-coing mecca, challenging the traditional North Coast as the number one resort tourist spot. Some (64 km)  of ininterrupted beach sweeps up the southeastern tip of the country, the endless vistas of  sea, sand and coconut is not only super beautiful but will leave you breathless ! only to be broken by clusters of low-level hotels and villas.

Since 1980’s a bonanza o ‘varilla and cemento’ or contruction goverment has seen this self-contained tourist cities flourish, their varied actractions and facilities cut off from the rest of the World. It’s possible should you wish, to scape the luxury of the hotel, villa or all-inclusive enclave to explore the rest of beaches and dominican areas-some calm, others wild– that stretch as far as the eye can see

 Places to see:

  • Playa Punta Cana
  • Manati Park
  • Bavaro Beach
  • Cabo Engaño
  • Cortecito Beach
  • Playa Macao
  • Boca de Maimon

Punta Cana is a Millionaire Paradise

Punta Cana and Bavaro are home and cater to the masses but the Costa del Coco has more exclusive, luxury resorts such as Los Corales, where Dominican born and established Fashion Designer Oscar de la Renta owns property. There are also luxury hotels, villas,  a marina and golf courses at Cap Cana where Donald Trump is  investor.
